Welcome to the 2024 Georgia Board of Directors

ATLANTA – January 7, 2024 — AIA Georgia is pleased to announce the newly elected members of the 2024 Board of Directors joining their colleagues to lead the chapter this year. The newly elected officers will play a pivotal role in guiding the organization and its advocacy efforts on behalf of the over 2,000 member architects, and wider Georgia architecture community.

Sophia Tarkhan, AIA, assumes her role as President of the 2024 AIA Georgia Board of Directors. Architect Todd Dolson, AIA, Georgia Tech graduate and Principal and Vice President at SSOE|Stevens & Wilkinson, has been elected president-elect. This marks the commencement of a three-year term during which he will serve as the president in 2025, followed by the role of past president.

April Mundy, AIA, of Savannah, will continue in the role of treasurer while fellow Savannah member Ryan Murphy continues as an At-large director. Newly elected Gulcin Becerik, AIA of Beck Architecture joins the AIA Georgia Board in their first term as a director. Additionally, Heli Shah, Assoc. AIA, Laura Sherman, AIA, and Garfield Peart, AIA will work as Statewide Directors ensuring the voices of emerging professionals, small business owners, and firm leaders, have their voices heard.

Fellow emeritus, and long-standing member Jim Fausett, FAIA continues in his appointment as College of Fellows Representative, uniting the Georgia chapter with the esteemed group of architects from around the world.
