Gorman & Company is seeking a dynamic Lead Architect to spearhead our design efforts and elevate the living experience across our innovative multifamily and hospitality projects. As the Lead Architect, your architectural expertise and creative vision will breathe life into our projects, fostering a sense of belonging and enhancing the living experience for residents.
As a Lead Architect, you will oversee:
Design Excellence
Conduct comprehensive building code reviews to ensure compliance and safety.
Collaborate with development, construction teams, and property management to understand project goals and resident needs.
Conceptualize and refine unit layouts, amenity spaces, and overall project work that exceed expectations.
Produce high-quality construction documents and specifications.
Project Leadership
Coordinate with Gorman’s construction staff and design consultants to scope and price projects accurately.
Ensure projects meet financial targets by managing budgets, schedules, and scope changes effectively.
Serve as the Architect of Record, leading the design team and ensuring seamless execution.
Facilitate design reviews and implement feedback from cross-functional teams.
Regulatory Expertise
Navigate complex regulatory settings, securing approvals from municipalities, historical commissions, and lending institutions.
Collaborate with external consultants to meet National Park Service (NPS) requirements for historical projects.
Team Collaboration
Manage and mentor our talented in-house architecture staff, fostering a culture of excellence.
Coordinate with Gorman’s market presidents, development teams, and other departments to align on priorities.
Identify and recommend solutions to potential issues throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (Master’s preferred) and professional registration as an Architect in Georgia.
Minimum of 10 years of multifamily and hospitality design experience. Preference for experience with Low Income Housing Tax Credit projects.
Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and industry-standard design software.
Exceptional project management and communication skills.
Ability to prioritize effectively, meet deadlines, and cultivate a team-oriented environment.
