Georgia vote needed on bylaws change

AIA Georgia underwent significant changes in response to the Institute’s decision to restructure, eliminating the Regional level after a two-year study and debate. The state, formerly part of a region with North Carolina and South Carolina, intended to maintain collaboration on the Aspire XP Conference. AIA now follows a state-based model similar to the U.S. Senate, with each state contributing representatives to key councils. Georgia is currently electing its state-based YAF Director.

Due to these alterations, AIA Georgia is revising its bylaws, removing references to “Regions.” Members can review proposed changes, posted for a month-long period of questions and feedback before a vote. Questions can be directed to AIA Georgia Secretary Ganesh Nayak at [email protected]. A membership meeting on December 3rd in Savannah allows members to vote and discuss changes, with details forthcoming on the website.

Two documents are provided for review:

All AIA Georgia members who were in good standing (paid dues) attended this business meeting to comment and vote on the changes to the bylaws.  The meeting took place in Savannah, on Friday December 3rd, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM.
