Strange Taco
In the heart of Monroe’s historic Railroad Alley, a 8,500 SF barrel-vaulted warehouse was transformed into a dynamic restaurant and event destination. Preserving the building’s red brick shell and exposed steel structure, the design celebrates its industrial roots while infusing bold brand-driven color and raw materiality throughout. Shipping containers carve out intimate seating within the expansive volume, and a large overhead door opens the space directly to the pedestrian-only alley—inviting daylight, fresh air, and community energy inside. The result is a vibrant adaptive reuse project where history, hospitality, and urban life seamlessly converge.
