The Christopher Kelley Leadership Development Program (CKLDP) was initially started as a program to the continue the legacy of leadership and activism Christopher Kelley, AIA left behind after passing at an early age. AIA Georgia adopted the program in 2018 and since its inception, the program has graduated 48 scholars who have moved on to taking local, state, regional and national leadership roles in AIA and other architecture-focused organizations. The program champions Mindy Goodroe, AIA; Shelby Morris, AIA; and TangelaMonroe, CAE overcame obstacles and built a program that is currently providing a stream of leaders to roles throughout the profession, and will continue doing so into the future. They played a pivotal role in securing support from the AIA Georgia Board leadership, creating industry partnerships, and creating, as well as, providing guidance to CKLDP participants. Their success in shaping new leaders for the profession is commended and recognized with the 2021 AIA Georgia Bronze Medal Award.
