An ecotone (noun) is a transitional zone between two distinct biomes. This is the conceptual basis for Ecotone Dialogues, a speculative project that explores the intersection of the natural and man-made worlds. Set on a 25-acre rural field station property nestled within a small forest along Interstate 75, that has undergone distinct eras of human activity and “re-wilding” once those activities ceased.  Through a combination of architectural drawings and drawing-based models, Ecotone Dialogues speculates potential interventions that address the current need for: expanded research and living facilities, and greater public engagement with the site.
