Desmond Johnson, AIA, NCARB, NOMA
The Emerging Professional Award honors a young AIA or Associate AIA member (initial date of licensure in any US jurisdiction is less than 10 years and not more than 15 years after graduation) residing and licensed to practice architecture in Georgia who has made a positive impact in the architecture profession.
For his enthusiasm, innovation and active participation in leadership with the American Institute of Architects, the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, National Organization of Minority Architects and the Young Architects Forum, he is recognized as the 2017 Emerging Professional of the Year. Specifically, AIA Georgia commends his efforts building and sustaining AIA membership, creating value for young professionals, and being at the forefront of achievements regarding his career development – contributing to some of the most complex and significant projects within his firm.
