2021 Emerging Professional: Nicole Hilton

Nicole Hilton’s dedication to the profession began during her tenure in college.  She is a founding member and first president of the Louisiana State University (LSU) chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architecture Students (NOMAS), eventually leading to her becoming a national representative on the NOMA Board of Directors.  Nicole has served on the AIA Georgia Board as Director at Large and on the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Millennial Committee.  In addition, she was named the GeorgiaForward Young Game Changer in 2016. As a trailblazer in the profession, Nicole was instrumental in the passage of AIA Resolution 18.3 that is creating paths to leadership for minority women at national levels in the Institute.  While starting and operating her own firm, Cole Hil, she has built a reputation for being collaborative and staying on the cutting-edge of design innovation.  For her contributions to the profession, she is recognized and celebrated with the 2021 AIA Emerging Professional Award.
