Description
ASD I SKY repositioned 3350 Peachtree to activate and breathe new life into the building as a way to attract new tenants to the building and increase value. ASD I SKY also completed all design related services and coordination for South City Kitchen – Buckhead, which located at the front of the building and activated Peachtree.
The primary drivers of the project were to increase the property’s value, change perceptions, activate the exterior and provide opportunities for additional revenue generation. This was completed through an overhaul of the building interior and exterior, site signage, rethinking of site circulation, the incorporation of new uses and additional leasable area within the existing footprint.
The tour will be led by the project’s architects and designers. You will hear strategies related to retrofits and coordination across many disciplines and aspects of this project, including architecture, landscape architecture, lighting, signage, wayfinding, and restaurant coordination.
Learning objectives
- Identify building design strategies that lend themselves to redevelopment and recapturing of underutilized spaces, while accommodating building code restrictions;
- Discuss the design team coordination efforts that take place between the team designing the main lobby and common areas spaces and the restaurant design team during the construction documents and construction administration phases of the project;
- Illustrate an appropriate reuse of specific building elements within the space and use of recycled and repurposed materials;
- Describe the building systems required for a restaurant in a mixed use environment, and how that may differ from a freestanding location.
