Resilient Design in Multifamily Construction
Presented by Carl Seville, LEED AP Homes, SK Collaborative

Resilient construction techniques are becoming increasingly important as a way to maintain livable conditions for occupants and reduce repair and replacement costs due to natural and man-made disasters including floods, wildfires, environmental pollution, power outages, and the like. Incorporating resilient design into multifamily projects can allow occupants to remain in their homes during periods of crisis, reducing financial risk for owners, occupants, and investors.

Participants will learn:

  • The core principles of resilient design
  • The key strategies used in creating a resilient multifamily building
  • How to determine the most appropriate resilient design strategies to incorporate into a project
  • How to design a building for resilience against short-term critical events, as well as against the medium to long-term effects of those events to maintain habitability and reduce repair and replacement costs

Please note that this event is taking place on a Tuesday and not the second Friday of this month.
