Spelman College’s new Mary Schmidt Campbell Center for Innovation & the Arts is dedicated to the arts and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), creating new opportunities for women of African descent to excel in fields where they are often underrepresented.

The building is organized around distinct hubs for collaboration. Students come together to produce collaborative work and gather in flexible spaces that can host pin-ups, performances, and other informal gatherings. Located just outside the campus’ historic gates, the Center strengthens Spelman’s connection to Westside Atlanta by welcoming the public in and reinforcing the College’s commitment to positive social change.
