Bernard B. Rothschild FAIA Award: William H. Clark
Starting his career at FABRAP, the firm founded by Bernard “Rocky” Rothschild FAIA, Clark’s receipt of this award is both serendipitous and richly deserved. As a longtime firm leader at Stevens & Wilkinson (now SSOE), he helped build the firm, one of the remaining original large firms in Atlanta, into a statewide and regional force in the profession. He served in numerous leadership roles across the profession, as well alongside leaders in allied industries, helping to improve and increase the cooperation and dialogue among leaders in those firms defining our communities’ built environment. As AIA Atlanta’s 2018 President he championed the successful “Architecture Special Section” that appears in the November Atlanta Business Chronicle each year, reaching more than 40,000 business leaders across the state. Described by his colleagues as “an architect’s architect” Clark is deservedly recognized for his leadership with the 2021 Bernard B. Rothschild Award.
